In general, Biden Pilosa is use for treating stings of poisonous insect, snake bites and unhealthy granulations of wounds; the juice is used both internally and externally. In China a decoction of the leaves, mixed with rice wine, is taken to relieve shock after accidents and to treat lung trouble. In Indochina the pounded leaves are made into a polutice to be laid on the eyelids to treat eye affections.

In Indonesia the decoction of the root is used against eye diseases, e.g for cleansing blurred eyes. Also bruised leaves may be used to derss fresh wounds of burns. Young leaves (chewed) are used against tooth ache and heated leaves are applied maturing boils.

Base on modern Chinesse data, the extracts of Biden Pilosa demonstrate a blood pressure lowering effect in test animals.

Description of Biden Pilosa
Annual plant, height up to 1 m;yellow flower with white margin. The leaves are trifoliated, dentate and hairy. They contain tannin.
