Fever Treatment, stomach trouble and bone complaints with Bastard agrimony/ Agreratumconyzoides/ Billy Goat weed. A decoction of the roots or leaves Bastard agrimony is given to treat fever. The leaves, prepared as an infusion, are used as an eyewash (also in the Gold Coast), as a drug against stomach trouble, for wound treatment (ointment), to treat bone complaints. Based on traditional medicine the fine-pounded leaves, mixed with coocking oil, is used externally for treatment of fresh wounds. Reported constituents are essensial oil, alkaloid and coumarin.

Description
A long hairy weed, height up to 1 m, emanating an unpleasant, sweetish odour after wilting. For the rest the plants is to be charakteristized by its round, thiny hairy stems; the oval, notched and hairy leaves, covered with glands; the inflorescences in form of corymbs : flower with 5 petals, 1-1.5 cm. The blue fruitlets, 2 mm, are sharp-edged and pentagonal, with 5 white, fluffy scales, 2-3.5 mm.

Locality
Bastard agrimony is pantropic in both hemispheres. In North America it is cultivated as an ornamental plants and in Europe as a house plant. Imported from Mexico, it is now of the most common weeds of Indonesia, found up to 2000 m above sea level.
