FLAG OF BOLIVIA COLOUR-BENDERA BOLIVIA. The national flag of Bolivia , known as " La Tricolor " is the national symbol of the country. It was adopted on October 31, 1851 during the government of Manuel Isidoro Belzu . It consists of three horizontal stripes of equal width and dimensions , the upper red stripe , the center yellow and the bottom green.

On August 17 the " Flag Day " is celebrated as a national holiday since July 30, 1924 decree determined by supremo commemorating the anniversary of creation of the first Bolivian flag. On the occasion of this great celebration celebrations are made as parades and ceremonies, which pays tribute to the flag.

Red: represents the blood shed by our heroes for the birth and preservation of the Republic, Yellow: represents our wealth and resources, Green: represents the wealth of our nature and the hope, as a principle of our society.
