FLAG OF BELGIUM COLOUR-BENDERA BELGIA. The national flag of Belgium consists of three vertical stripes in black (the pound), yellow and red. Its vertical position of lists based on the flag of France, whereas the color of the colors were removed duchy Brabant. Its unusual proportions (13:15) have unknown origin.

The flag was adopted on January 23, 1831, shortly after the Belgians had achieved independence from the Netherlands in 1830. The flag has played an important role during the revolt, when their colors served as a reminder of an older flag with horizontal stripes used during a previous uprising in 1789 in the then Austrian Netherlands.

The official guide to protocol in Belgium states that the national flag measures 2.60 m tall for each 3 m wide, giving it a ratio of 13:15. Each of the stripes is one-third of the width of the flag. It is important to note that the yellow is in fact yellow and not the darker gold of the flag of Germany, which is a somewhat similar black-red-gold tricolour.

Bendera ini diadopsi pada tanggal 23 Januari 1831, tak lama setelah Belgia telah mencapai kemerdekaan dari Belanda pada tahun 1830. Bendera telah memainkan peran penting selama pemberontakan, ketika warna mereka berfungsi sebagai pengingat dari bendera yang lebih tua dengan garis-garis horizontal yang digunakan selama pemberontakan Belgia sebelumnya tahun 1789 kepada Belanda.
